Wrapped Decanters

The series of wrapped pieces is a playful inversion of the tradition of cut crystal glassware and it’s packaging. In these virtuoso core cast works the humble packaging is elevated to the status of a rich decorative external surface whilst the cut glass decanter is partially hidden inside. In doing so the form of the traditional (some would say ‘old-fashioned’) glassware is re-invented into a sculptural and monumental form and the overlooked becomes the focus of our attention.
